Event Calendar Header/Footer Content

LibPress now supports the customization of header and footer content on different pages within The Events Calendar (TEC). This new feature allows Site Managers to add customized content either above or below the default content on Event Calendar. Site Managers now have more control over the messages on different event pages, offering an improved experience for site visitors.

Getting Started

From your LibPress dashboard, navigate to Site Manager, then to Event Calendar Content. From here, you can use the form to create one or more groups of content to display before or after the content that is automatically generated on your calendar pages.

Form Overview

Here are the key elements of the Event Calendar Header/Footer Content form:

  1. Title Bar: Displays the name of the content group.
  2. Layout controls: Includes buttons to add a new content group, duplicate the current content group, delete the content group, or hide/show the current content group panel.
  3. Content Description: Use this field to add or update the title of each content group. Note that this title will not be shown on the page, it’s only there to help you keep track of your content groups.
  4. Display Locations: There are four different page types that can be customized individually:
    • Single Event: Add header and/or footer content to the Single-event page view. This will be displayed for every event in your calendar.
    • Category Page(s): Add header and/or footer content to the Category page view in your events calendar. You can choose more than one category to apply the content to. Refer to the Events (TEC) Overview page for more information about using categories.
    • Community Submission Page: If you use the TEC Community Calendar add-on, you can choose this location to add content to the header and/or footer of your Submit an Event page.
    • Global Calendar: Apply header and/or footer content to the List, Month and Photo calendar views.
  5. Header/Footer selector: Toggle between “Before” to add your customized content before the default TEC page content, and “After” to add your content after the default TEC page content: [add photo example with header and footer circled]
  6. Text box: Add your custom content here. Note that you can include media such as images and choose to add your content using either the Visual (what you see is what you get) or Text (HTML code) editor.
  7. Add Calendar Page Content button: Use this to create a new content group. Alternatively, use the (+) button in the Layout Controls.
  8. Save Changes button: Use this button when you’re ready to publish your customized content.

Create or Delete a Calendar Page Content group

To create:

  1. Under Content Description, enter a descriptive title.
  2. Choose your Display Location(s) by clicking Add Display Location and choosing from the drop-down menu. To remove a display location, hover your cursor over it and then use the (-) symbol to remove the row.
  3. Enter your desired content in the text box.
  4. If desired, create another content group using the Add Calendar Page Content button.
  5. When you’re ready, click Save Changes under Publish.

To delete:

  1. Hover your cursor over the layout controls for the content group you would like to delete.
  2. Click on the Remove Layout button, which has the  (-) symbol.
  3. When asked “Are you sure?”, click Remove.
  4. Click Save Changes.
