Checking Items Out

  1. To check out an item press F1 OR click Circulation → Check Out
  2. Scan or enter patron’s barcode and click Submit if entering barcode manually.
    This will bring up the patron’s record with the ‘Check out’ screen
  3. Scan the item barcode → Due date is now displayed.
  4. When all items are scanned, click Done at bottom right of screen to exit patron record.

Checking Items In

  1. To check in an item, press F2 OR select Circulation → Check In
  2. Scan the item barcode(s)

Item Status (F5)

The Item Status screen is very useful. Many actions can be taken by either circulation staff or cataloguers on this screen.

  • Check item status
  • View item details
  • View past circulations
  • Insert item alert messages
  • Mark items missing or damaged
  • Batch update items

Public Catalogue

The public catalogue can be accessed from any location via the Internet.

The URL for your catalogue is LIBRARYCODE.PROVINCE.catalogue.libraries.coop.

Some libraries have additional custom URLs.  Your local system administrator will know what URL should be shared with your patrons.

Inter Library Loans

Received (incoming) = Items Checked out to Patrons using brief ILL records or pre-catalogued items.

  1. Circulation staff retrieve the patron’s account [F1]
  2. Scan the barcode provided with the item

Sent (outgoing) = Items Checked out to Library Patron Accounts

  1. Interlibrary loan staff retrieve the appropriate patron account
  2. Check out the item
  3. Perform the required steps in your 3rd party ILL system to send the item to the requesting library
